Plan for first shoot- Lickey Hills:

My first shoot for this project is going to be at the lickey hills. My idea has changed slightly it’s still Landscape VS. Man-Made-Scapes but I am going to be using digital manipulation to get the contrast between the two. I am going to be taking photographs of the trees and then cutting out the background these photographs on photoshop and placing just the tree into a new photograph. For this shoot I am going to be using my Sony DSLR with my 18mm-55mm lens. I typically want to get photos of singular branches or trees with less leaves on it, as the photographs are going to be cut out on photoshop to be placed into another photo. I am going on a fairly sunny day so the trees will be evenly lit.

Evaluation of Lickey Hills shoot:

This shoot didn’t work out too well as it was hard to try and get photographs of singular branches or trees without too many leaves on for me to achieve what I want for my final photographs. It was a good sunny day to take the photographs, however, the sun was leaking in between the leaves and overexposing part of the leaves and just made it genuinely hard to get photographs that I could use for my final idea. It also didn’t work as I was looking up at the trees and didn’t have a level or birds eye view of them. This shoot has made me realise that I need to figure out a different way of getting these photographs.
After this shoot I decided that for my next shoots I would have to buy plants/flowers and photograph them in studio as this will give me control over the lighting and I will also have the right angle I need for my final idea.
