Plan for
third shoot- Plants and Flowers:
This shoot
is in replacement for my first shoot as that didn’t work out at all. For this
shoot I am going to be buying some plants maybe some flowers just to see what
they look like, but I will probably be just buying and photographing different
plants. I am going to be taking these photographs in the studio, I will use 2
lights either soft boxes as they are good for even lighting or honeycomb lights
if I want the lighting to be a bit harsher/stronger. Again, like the other
shoots I am going to be using my Sony DSLR, with my 18mm-55mm lens. I am going
to go and buy the plants right before the shoot from Solihull so they’re fresh
and not beaten up on my way to college. There are plenty of shops in Solihull
to get plants from so I don’t have to worry about that.
Evaluation
for plant shoot:
I brought
one ivy plant for £1, one magenta celosia plant for £3 and a bunch of pink
calendula flowers for £3, which altogether cost me £7. All of the flowers were
from Morrisons as I knew that they were cheap in there. I decided to buy a
bunch of flowers because most of the plants were either beaten up or dying and
wouldn’t look too nice in the photographs. In the studio, I used 2 continuous
soft box lights to light the plants and flowers as they gave me simple even lighting
that was easy to control. I also used a product table that has a white
background that will be easy to get rid of on photoshop. The shoot was a
success I got the right photographs that I needed out of it that were eye level
or birds eye view and that were also clearly lit.
I am going to do another shoot like this as I
need more photographs of plants/flowers. I am also glad that I used a bunch of
flowers in this shoot because I think they worked out better than the Ivy and
if I think about it now, it would be kind of boring or monotonous to have just
plants for my final photographs as they would all be green, just maybe
different shades of green so I’m glad I’ve used flowers and I will be taking
more for my final photographs.
